The goal of the Ashland Middle School Counseling Department is to 
provide short-term developmental counseling to address 
the academic, career and personal/social development of all students. 
 
 
Services Provided:
  • Social, emotional, and academic support to all students
  • Teach developmental guidance courses in all grades including units on bullying prevention, social skills, respect for self and others, and stress management
  • Parent information and consultation as needed
  • Work with outside programs to connect students with additional resources
  • Provide information on high school programs including vocational schools
  • Act as a liaison and resource between parents and teachers
  • Meet with academic teams, administration, nursing and wellness on a monthly basis
  • Assist with student transitions and registration
  • Serve on the RtI (Response to Intervention) Team, and assist with interventions as needed
  • Assist students with schedules
  • Coordinate all 504 plans for the middle school
  • Participate in IEP meetings as needed
