NOVEMBER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

11/21

STUDY HALL 2.0

EDP students get a feel for their new iPads researching geographical features
in a recent homework session. We purchased ten
iPads to be used during study hall, thematic
units, and creativity workshops.

Students who need access to the internet for homework are able to do so under the supervision of a staff member, and students with fine motor issues find life a bit easier when they can type their spelling sentences rather than write them.

HEY, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!

EDP is fun it's true!
Especially when we sing for you!
Good news is we sing for free;
Bad news is we sing off key.

Sound off - Happy
Sound off - Birthday
Bring it on down -
Happy Birthday - to you!

OUTSTANDING ROLE MODELS

Former EDP students and current
aides shine brightly!

Elyssa G. puts variety show students
through their paces
in an act she choreographed and directed,
while Samiha A., Anthony B., Miles K., Austin S. and Patrick W. show off their Ashland pride at the National Honor Society Induction ceremony.

VARIETY SHOW REHEARSALS

Daily, beginning 11/1

Rehearsals take place between
3:20 - 3:50 and 3:55 - 4:25.

Most groups will be done by 3:50, but one group (on a rotating basis) rehearses from 3:55 - 4:25. This is consistent, and we can let you know which day of the week your child's group rehearses at that time if you need to know for pickup purposes.

DINNER IS SERVED!

On January 27th the 6th grade Cooking Club was in full swing! The students showed off their culinary skills by preparing a three-course meal for their families.

The menu included salad, roasted carrots, twice baked potatoes, baked chicken, and chocolate mousse in graham cracker crusts.

At the end of the evening, the students were presented with a Williams-Sonoma Cookbook For Kids to further their budding interest.

SCHOOL COMMITTEE PERFORMANCES

2013 - 2014
As if being at EDP until 6:00 isn't enough, Mindess EDP students recently came back one evening to perform, "It Takes A Village" for the Ashland School Committee and Administrators. BRAVO to all of them!

2012 - 2013

Mindess EDP students performed their Variety Show piece, "Alf Layla Wa Layla" for the School Committee. As Superintendent Clenchy stated later, "There was magic in the air that evening!"

BUBBLE SCIENCE!

READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?

Students in the iPad Club spent five one-hour sessions with Ms. Sue Lesser-Seltzer creating their own books using Book Creator. Students learned how to take, upload, and edit photos and video, record and import their own audio, and write and edit their own stories.
